Description

Water proof or water-resistant describes objects relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specific conditions. In building construction a structure needs water proofing since concrete itself will not be watertight on its own but note concrete is easily waterproofed with additives etc. The conventional system of water proofing involves membrane that act as a barrier between water and the building structure preventing the passage of water.

Types
Various types of water proofing membrane are used depending on the application which is available in various materials e.g. bitumen, silicate, PVC or EPDM. Various sizes of water proofing sheets are produced using EPDM compound.

It is available in 1.2mm thickness and width is referred to the customer requirement up to 1.5 meter. Roll size is available up to 30 meters as per customer's specifications.

Function

It is a single ply proofing membrane and as a liner for ponds and other structure.

Quality and Physical Properties
No cracking, heat resistant, long life, chemical resistant. Good dynamic behaviour, low temperature flexibility gives an excellent damp proofing and easy to install. The EPDM compound for Water roofing sheet meets ASTM–D4637 specifications.

Standard

The standards for water proofing bathrooms in domestic construction have improved over the years, due in large part to the general tightening of building codes.

ASTM C1127 standard guide for use of high solid content, cold liquid content, applied elastomeric waterproofing membrane with an integral wearing surface.
